We don’t get a lot of snow in Southeast Tennessee, sometimes not even a single snowfall all Winter long. So when we do get a little snow – it is a BIG deal. Mountain roads are closed and nearly every business shuts down.
So far this year we have had only a couple flurries. Yesterday was the lowest temperature so far this Winter with a low of 25° and 36° for the high.
We actually had significant snowfall on Christmas Eve 2010 for the first time since 1969. (Significant being 2.5″) I took this photo last year to commemorate the big event. Although, a lot of the snow had already melted when I finally decided to go on a hike to take photos.
